Each season brings about new things to celebrate and do with family and friends. It’s always fun to take your family to a local festival to enjoy the sights, sounds, and shopping. Here are some of the top seasonal festivals in and around Atlanta.

Spring

Georgia Renaissance Festival - This medieval festival features colorful characters wearing period costumes and offering presentations of the time. From jousting to glass blowing demonstrations and sword swallowing shows, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Chastain Park Arts Festival - The Chastain Park Arts Festival is a free event and is one of the nation’s top 100 art festivals. With artwork from over 185 artists, it has live entertainment, activities for the kids, food trucks, and of course, many works of art to enjoy.

Atlanta Jazz Festival - Located at Piedmont Park, this festival is a great way to celebrate Memorial Day weekend. Listen to the soulful jazz music from national bands, as well as local and youth bands. This free event also has a kids’ zone, arts and crafts, and food, as well as hundreds of jazz acts to enjoy.

Summer

Atlanta Summer Beer Fest - Sample over 150 beers, including some from local breweries while enjoying live music and time with friends.

Ice Cream Festival - Every July, those in the Atlanta area can cool off with some ice cream. From gelato to frozen yogurt, there is something for everyone.

Decatur BBQ, Blues, & Bluegrass Festival - This resident favorite festival combines BBQ and Bluegrass music all in one event. Celebrate the end of summer with great food and good music.

Fall

Dragon Con - Atlanta offers festivals for all interests, including those who love sci fi, comics, and fantasy gaming. At Dragon Con, you can experience belly dancing and Tai Chi, visit with a favorite actor of a sci fi show, or participate in the gaming events.

Little Five Points Halloween Festival & Parade - See outrageous costumes, large floats, and Halloweenthemed marching bands at this Halloween parade. After the parade, visit one of the local eateries in this eclectic neighborhood to enjoy live music and local food.

Winter

Children’s Christmas Parade - Bundle up to see some spectacular parade balloons, marching bands, and Christmas-themed floats. This Atlanta holiday tradition is a must! Have breakfast with Santa before the parade, and then enjoy the many helium balloon characters floating by, such as the giant Nutcracker.

Atlanta Chinese New Year Festival - Experience the culture of the area by participating in the Chinese New Year Festival. Watch traditional dances like the Dragon & Lion Dance and enjoy traditional Chinese cuisine.
